Therefore be prepared for some extra effort on your part to get it properly planned. You are probably busy, working day and night. To get your family vacation planned properly you would have put off the vacation for quite a few months because you need to allot plenty of time to plan it. Do not go into the trap of underestimating the time it takes. Planning a family holiday can be a really fun and enjoyable activity; especially if you involve all the your loved ones.

Both big and small kids will surely appreciate being included in the planning of the family vacation and you should include each and every member of the family in the vacation planning stage. If you start up with a simple brainstorming session, many ideas for places to go will be thrown in . One of the most fundamental questions is whether to purchase a family vacation package or go by your own? Another major question is where you and your loved ones actually want to go? Can you work out an agreement?

Smoky Mountains

If you love the mountain you can go to the Great Smoky Mountains? Most people - families included - will love Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Cherokee, North Carolina isn't far from the park in Gatlinburg which offers the non-stop casino action of Harrah's Cherokee Smoky Mountain Casino. By taking a little time for searching, you may select an area where there are many activities for the children so that they enjoy it much. Fortunately, there are lots of activities for children to do in the Cherokee area that can enable mom and dad some grown-up time in the casino. Teenagers love the extensive white water rafting and tubing in and around Cherokee.

Pigeon Forge is a place in the smoky mountains you may select for fun. A few days in Gatlinburg and a day to go to Cherokee and Maggie Valley could be a good plan. If you haven't visited this area before, there's a lot to see and a lot to do. Like for instance Dollywood and Dixie Stampede will keep children and teens thrilled in Pigeon Forge while the shopping in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge will thrill mom while dad finds the golf courses to enthuse his golfing ambitions! There's really something for the family in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

Family Vacation On the Beach

If you and your family prefer the beach you will not find it difficult to plan a family vacations. Fortunately, there are so many to choose from in the US and tt is hard to single out just one. If you are starters, there are the gorgeous beaches of Florida. IOn the gulf side, no other beach is as beautiful as the beaches on St.George Island. Even before the hurricanes inflicted damage on the beaches of Destin and the surrounding areas, the best kept Florida gulf secrets were savored in St.George Island. Then the hurricanes came and over the last couple of years they knocked Destin for a loop. Hurricane Katrina didn't take a direct hit in Destin but smaller storms have certainly deteriorated some of the most gorgeous areas of Destin. Now, most beach lovers search the beaches of St. George Island. The lovely homes and houses there as well as the lovely white sands of the beach are a favorite for any family. The climate allows you to go there any time of the year.

Two beaches; Daytona and Melbourne Beach on the East Coast of Florida are still favorites among families who have surfers to consider. The activities and fun offered by these beaches are so many that you will find it hard to leave. It is so enjoyable, that you might even skip your dinner for wanting to spend time in the beach. If you travel to Melbourne, watch out for the local fishermen who like to fish from the sandy beaches in front of the local hotels and you can count on numerous small sharks swarming when these guys start fishing in the area. So get ready to surf in this area as it is a great experience that you hardly will forget.

It is not only Florida who has beaches in the USA. There is something called the west coast and California - also known as 'The Sunshine State". And here are many excellent beaches. For example Malibu Beach in LA is still the beach you must see when your travel company takes you to California. Family vacations in California is an excitement for almost everyone. Another favorite in California is Disneyland. Most families love all of the recent additions to the original Disney Theme park! Both adults and kids will enjoy is the Universal Studios. Luxury Hotels In Spain

So you are traveling to Spain and planning to visit Barcelona while you are there, but the thought of staying in a noisy, busy, city centre hotel leaves you cold? Dont worry, there are other options when it comes to Barcelona hotels, and the following couple of suggestions should make for a mush more relaxed trip.

The first suggestion is to try one of the superb four star hotels at the Port Aventura theme park, only a short distance outside the centre, rather than a hotel in Barcelona city itself. It is possible to get a dedicated transfer from Barcelonas main airport, directly to the theme park, which will drop you right outside your hotel. Of course, you can always hire a car and drive yourself to the theme park, and if you do, remember that Europcar have special arrangements with the Port Aventura hotels to ensure you get the best deal.

The four hotels available each have their own particular character and are decorated and furnished to a very high level. Whichever you choose you will be guaranteed a luxurious visit. If you are looking for classic Mediterranean style you might try the Portaventura hotel, whilst for something a little different, the El Paso hotel has a Mexican theme. If you are after sheer indulgence and the chance to sunbath by the pool on pure white sand, The Hotel Caribe is for you.

As well as bed and breakfast, the very reasonable prices charged by the Port Aventura hotels also include entrance to the theme park and the Caribe Aquatic Centre. Even during the summer months, an expensive period for all hotels in Spain, a night in the hotel with two days in the theme park is just over two hundred euros for a single, and less than one hundred and fifty per person for a double. To reduce the cost even further, you can have a room for up to four people. Out of season, when it is still possible to enjoy good weather in this region, two people could pay less than one hundred euros.

If you want to be a little closer to Barcelona city centre, but are still looking for a luxurious option, away from the crowds of La Rambla, you should check into the Arts Hotle, which offers an incredible sea front location with views over the whole Marina and port area. This is a place to really be pampered, and any of the spacious rooms, suites or split-level apartments, offer an uneatable standard of accommodation. The real gem in this hotel is the Goyescas restaurant, were the extensive menu includes local specialties as well as international cuisine. If you are having trouble deciding between the mouthwatering dishes, a recommendation from the friendly staff may help you make up you mind. They will even tell you the perfect wine to accompany your meal.

So as you can see, it is perfectly possible to enjoy the cultural and historical sights of Barcelona, without having to stay right in the bustling city centre. After a hard days sightseeing you return to a calm relaxing oasis, just a short ride away.

Electronic Air Purifiers

Although there are various versions of air-purifiers available today in the market including the HEPA purifier and the UV air-purifier, but there are only two basic kinds of electronic air-purifiers. These are the negative ion generators and the ozone air-purifiers. We will discuss the functioning and effectiveness of both the varieties in the following section.

Recently, air purifiers are coming with indicator lights that will notify the user that it is time to change the filter inside. Previously one always had to keep an eye for that, and the replacement was based much on guess work. The average domestic owner doesn't have the expertise to understand if it is time to replace the filter. With indicator lights, that shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Ionic Air Purifiers

The basic principle of these airpurifiers is based on the concept of static electricity. What it does is while the air passes through the purifier it charges the air negatively by releasing negative ions. Now these negative ions come in contact with the positive ions present in the air. These would include the regular pollutants like dust, bacteria, pollen and chemicals. These remain suspended in the air and we breathe them in along with the air. Now the negative and positive charges immediately bond together and fall to the ground. This is a very simple and basic method, but at the end of the day it works.

In the more advanced ionic air purifiers there are plates inside the purifier which are negatively charged. When air passes through the purifier, the positively charged particulates are attracted by the plates and are collected. So the floor remains free of the pollutants.

Ozone Air-Purifiers

The second variety of electronic airpurifier is the ozone air-purifier. However, this variety of air purifier has been embroiled in much controversy and there is little indication that the controversy is going to die down anytime soon.

Ozone air purifiers actually release ozone in the air. The principle is that ozone is composed of three atoms of oxygen of which the third atom is a free radical and readily reacts with any organic substance. The manufacturers' theory is that the free radical reacts with the organic substances in the air, thus decreasing pollution. And in the process the two other atoms are now released as oxygen which further cleanses the air.

The problem is that this free radical can actually react with the organic substances inside our body and this can be very harmful for our health and can seriously damage our lungs. So according to some, ozone air purifiers do us more harm than they aid us. There is definitely a need to look into the matter more seriously and there should be more research conducted before we can come to a conclusion about this variety of air-purifier.

Perfume A Favorite Gift For Thousands Of Years

It is safe to assume that probably 9 out 10 people use perfume on an everyday basis. Be it to the office, to keep fresh or for a wild night out, perfumes have become part of our daily lives. When did the perfume make its first appearance? This is something that we like to find out.

It is believed that the perfumes first started way back in the 10th Century BC among the Medes and Persians, primarily to hide their bad hygiene. During that time, scented waters and aromatic lotions were made out of rose, fig, absinthe and nard. These were also served as aromatic wines. The Egyptians also used perfumes for the purpose of mummification. In fact, research has shown that the Egyptians even considered perfumes to be part of worship. Their perfumes were made from flowers and spices like saffron, irises, cinnamon, heliotrope, myrrh and cedar oil. Egypt was probably the first lead for perfume in the ancient world. The Greeks and Romans also had an equal love for fragrances in the ancient world.

During the arrival of Christianity in the period of Galo-Romans to Gothic Era, churches were known to have used perfumed wax candles and fragrant incense. The essence of perfume stretched all the way to the period of monarchy of Valois Kings, Renaissance and Bourbons Kings. At these times, perfumes were even used as magic potions and whatnots to entice and deceive totally different reason and purpose compared to modern times.

The modern perfume revolution came into full swing when perfumer Paul Parquet created the first modern perfume for Houbigant in 1882 under the name of Fougere Royale. A method known as enfleurage was used to process the natural ingredients. This method produces very fine tuberose and jasmine oil but in small amounts hence making them extremely costly. During the industrial revolution, powerful European chemical companies made a breakthrough discovery in aroma-chemical such as heliotropine, coumarin, artificial musk, vanillin, ionone and l'hydroxycitronellal.

The dawn of the 20th century marked crucial discoveries for perfumes. The first discovery was in 1903 when Moureu and Delange discovered methyl heptine carbonate and methyl octine carbonates which fragrances were similar to those of violet leaves. The surfacing of department stores in Europe was the perfect platform for perfumers like Francois Coty who was the first person to produce a combination of natural and synthetic fragrances. He created a perfume called LOrigan in 1905. By 1930, there were numerous perfume houses like Houbigant, Rigaud, Lubin, Guerlain, , D'Orsay, Roger & Gallet and a host of others.

Today the perfume is industry is booming and with new fragrances and designers, mushrooming it is unlikely that the perfume industry would ever go on slow mode. Famous fragrances by top-notch designers like Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gauthier, Kenzo, Yves Saint Laurent, Kelvin Clein and a host of other labels, are constantly reinventing themselves to produce top quality irresistible perfumes.
